JAZZ HOUSE KiDS seeks an energetic and experienced Music Festival Box Office Manager to contribute to the planning and execution of events associated with and leading up to the 2026 MONTCLAIR JAZZ FESTIVAL at this highly regarded, award-winning community arts organization. The MONTCLAIR JAZZ FESTIVAL encompasses a five-concert Soundcheck Series, multiple community events throughout the summer, and culminates with a Downtown Jamboree of music and festivities on August 15th. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Event Operations, the Box Office Manager will support the daily operations of the festival’s box office, ensuring efficient ticketing operations, accurate financial oversight, and exceptional customer service. Work with the leadership of the festival to plan and execute key logistical aspects related to ticketing of the MONTCLAIR JAZZ FESTIVAL. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Staff Management & Operations Oversee daily ticket sales operations for both single tickets and members, ensuring smooth transactions and excellent customer service monitor box office emails, responding promptly and professionally Hire, train, and manage event box office staff of approximately 25 and an intern, including creating staff schedules and pre-event and day‑of training Ownership of Front of House ticketing operations including scanning ticket holders, walk‑up ticket sales, and handling customer service needs Oversee the organization’s new ticketing system (TIXR), participate in TIXR advanced training, advise on best practices, and assist with training staff Generate weekly auto sales reports Liaise with the Development team to access and maintain accurate customer information and payment records, ensuring data integrity and consistency Serve as the primary contact with TIXR Work with the marketing team and advise on best practices for driving ticket sales Create and track sponsor, member and other contractual complimentary tickets Time Commitment This is a seasonal employed position, beginning immediately and culminating on or around August 28, 2026 June-August: 40 hours per week in June, July, and August Events: Additional hours needed to work MJF events (see event schedule below) The job duties expand beyond scheduled hours in the days prior to each event and in the two weeks prior to the August 15 Downtown Jamboree Must be available for event load‑in/duration of event/load‑out for each day outlined below with the ability and willingness to work outdoors in unpredictable weather conditions Attendance is mandatory at all events comprising the 2026 MONTCLAIR JAZZ FESTIVAL Soundcheck Series (evenings) June 16th, July 1st, July 14th, July 28th, August 1st, Downtown Jamboree August 14th (7am-10pm), August 15th (6am-1am) All festival staff may be asked to provide support at other summer programming events as needed May be asked to attend additional related events such as volunteer training sessions This position cannot support vacations or time off due to the compressed time period, no exceptions please. Qualifications Minimum of five (5) years as a box office manager or ticketing representative, preferably at an arts organization or concert producer, with a strong interest in large live‑events Strong knowledge of box operations and knowledge of ticketing platform software is required Experience collaborating with operations, marketing, booking, and accounting teams Ability to interact with the staff, volunteers and the public courteously and efficiently, especially with senior citizens and students Excellent administration and people management skills Experience building and managing a team of event staff and volunteers Exceptional time management and organizational skills Flexibility and an ability to manage unexpected changes Experience using project management software and planning tools Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Google Suite (sheets, docs, + slides) Excellent team player with a “can‑do” attitude Able to work both collaboratively as well as independently with little direction, and communicate with individuals at all levels of an organization Able to update or create new protocols, processes, and procedures as needed Excellent creative thinking and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively Able to endure long periods of time standing or moving frequently Flexibility to accommodate an expanded work schedule in the weeks leading up to the MONTCLAIR JAZZ FESTIVAL is a must Equal Opportunity Employment Statement JAZZ HOUSE KiDS is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
