We are looking for a Freelance Raw Materials Manager for a top fashion company in New York, New York. This is a hybrid position based out of the New York office, 3 days onsite and 2 days working remotely per week. 6+ month contract. Hourly pay rate $45-47/hour based on experience. Responsibilities Support RM Director to create and maintain seasonal raw material portfolios. Monitor developments, troubleshoot issues and facilitate solutions when possible. Closely communicate with manager and Hub teams / mills to resolve any issues / delays and minimize quality problems. Gather and review fabric submits, FDS sheets, and test reports. Maintain physical fabric records, presentation boards, and digital database / PLM / Centric. Assess and call-out high risk fabric developments as part of Stage 1 risk assessment. Daily communication with cross‑functional teams, overseas mills. Work closely with Sourcing team in order to deliver timely proto & salesman samples. Check all fabric details for correct quality, finish, and color prior to ordering bulk. Other related duties / special projects as required. Required Qualifications Experience with raw materials sourcing or development. Must have fabric or textile background experience. Technical experience is a plus. Bachelor’s Degree in Textiles, Design, or related field strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite required. Basic technical understanding of textiles required. Web PLM preferred. Strong organizational skills. Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Deadline‑driven with a strong sense of urgency and accuracy.
