At Metropolitan Pediatrics, we are not simply delivering care, we’re shaping the standard for pediatric health across Oregon. Metro Pediatrics is the largest independent pediatric group in the state, serving more than 53,000 children across the Portland metro region. We are seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) who is prepared to lead clinical excellence across the organization and support statewide pediatric leadership. This is a role for a physician leader who understands that clinical excellence, operational strategy, and population health are inseparable, and who is ready to influence all three areas of impact at the most respected and leading pediatric organization in Oregon. Role Description: The role of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is one of clinical oversight and executive level responsibility for medical decisions. At Metropolitan Pediatrics, the CMO oversees clinical leadership in order to ensure and promote high quality medical care and drive targeted results in the areas of clinical quality outcomes, compliance, patient/physician satisfaction, and patient safety.This is a rare opportunity to step into a role where your leadership directly impacts: Tens of thousands of children and families, The professional experience of a large and growing provider team and The direction of pediatric care across a region. Required Qualification and Experience: This role carries full executive responsibility for clinical oversight and performance across a multi-location, high-volume pediatric organization. You will be part of a highly collaborative executive team and supportive, aligned board of pediatrician owners. Specific skills include but are not limited to: Exceptional professional written and verbal communication skills to a variety of levels with a variety of constituencies; able to modify approach to target audience; good at instilling horizontal and vertical communications throughout the organization. Relationship builder with all stakeholders; consistency of message, regardless of audience; participatory decision-making style, but decisive when necessary; strong listening skills; guards against groupthink; understands the culture of smaller communities; intuitive; direct. Excellent influencing skills and ability to effectively manage sensitive/challenging interpersonal and organizational situations.
