Sr. Consultant, Annuity Concepts

Purpose: As part of the Marketing team, the Sr. Consultant, Annuity Concepts role is responsible for developing and delivering a regular cadence of high-value sales ideas, tools, advanced planning concepts, and key initiatives. This individual is a strategic and creative thinker with highly effective presentation and communication skills, maintaining an elite understanding of annuity products, financial planning concepts, and the annuity/retirement marketplace at both the financial professional and consumer levels. They are concept-application focused and have a proven ability to ideate and create compelling storyboards that connect annuity product features to common retirement and income planning challenges. This position will act as a key marketing SME to define, build, and own Athene's advanced planning marketing resources and programs, collaborating with field advanced markets resources to ensure alignment, continuity of messaging, and marketplace relevance.

Accountabilities:

  • Define and build the high-level strategy, roadmap, and priorities for advanced planning marketing support.
  • Own, monitor, optimize, and expand Athene's advanced planning marketing resources and programs to ensure differentiation, field relevance, and measurable adoption.
  • Develop high-impact sales concepts, presentations, and thought leadership that address common financial planning topics and clearly position annuities as a key solution within the planning process.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to inform the content marketing calendar, ensuring alignment between advanced planning field needs and broader thought leadership initiatives.
  • Collaborate with field advanced markets resources to identify emerging planning themes and sales needs, developing supporting strategies aligned with marketing and sales priorities.
  • Communicate and drive awareness of marketing resources with internal and external sales teams, providing focused education on use cases and application within the sales process.
  • Work closely with product and legal teams to maintain a strong understanding of product features and address common technical planning questions related to annuities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in marketing, sales, and/or related business experience.
  • Experience in the financial services and/or annuity industry required.
  • In-depth understanding of annuity and financial services products, how they are positioned, and how they are applied within retirement income and financial planning strategies.
  • Proven experience with the application of insurance/annuity products to address planning questions and opportunities.
  • Content creator mindset with a demonstrated ability to craft creative and compelling storyboards, proof points, and presentations that showcase the diverse applicability of annuities in the planning process.
  • Highly effective presentation and communication skills, with the ability to build understanding around complex topics across various audience levels.
  • Ability to build rapport, collaborate, and influence at multiple levels within an organization.
  • Strong project management discipline with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple initiatives, and deliver measurable results on time and on budget.
  • Highly effective problem resolution, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify and create strategic solutions and define a path forward in moments of ambiguity.
  • Eager to own the creation of a strategic vision and rally team members around a common goal.
  • Ability to travel occasionally 510% of time.
