Missoula County is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support public health initiatives within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide direct nursing care and health education to residents of Missoula and surrounding communities, helping to improve overall community health and access to essential services. Working under the direction of registered nurses and public health leadership, you will perform clinical tasks such as administering immunizations, conducting basic health assessments and screenings, collecting specimens, monitoring vital signs, and accurately documenting patient information in electronic health records. You will assist with communicable disease prevention and control activities, participate in clinic-based and community outreach programs, support emergency preparedness and response efforts, and provide patient teaching on topics such as vaccinations, chronic disease management, and healthy lifestyle choices. This position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to public health protocols and HIPAA regulations, and the ability to work compassionately with diverse and sometimes vulnerable populations. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team that values community service, integrity, and respect, and you will contribute to initiatives that enhance the quality and reach of health services across the county. Candidates should hold current LPN licensure, possess foundational experience in clinical or public health settings, and be comfortable working in both clinic and community environments.
